About ME
My name is Eric Der and I am currently a Senior Associate Project Architect at Page Southerland Page. I previously worked at Aamodt / Plumb and EYP Architecture & Engineering and completed my Master of Architecture at the University of Virginia.
Bio:
Born and raised near the coasts of rural Massachusetts, I grew up surrounded all the natural wonders New England has to offer. In college, I studied art history and anthropology at Brandeis University, where I cultivated my interest in architecture. The tectonics of the built environment grasped my attention, and now I seek an architecture that deals directly with these pragmatic conditions. A clear understanding of construction, integration with the land, and direct spatial ideas, combined with innovation in structure and physical manifestation of core theories push the limits of my design thoughts and process.
Expertise:
My early career focused on higher education and science and technology, however I now work at a design build residential firm. I have worked on projects, competitions, and interviews at Texas A&M University, Bryant University, Old Dominion University, East Carolina University, Roanoke University, Simmons College, Pennsylvania State, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University, and the University of Chicago. I have worked on residential projects in and around New England, as well as one project in Texas. I also have a great interest in furniture design, and have designed and sold some furniture.
